Daily Hardwood Care
Hardwood is a notoriously durable and easy-to-maintain flooring option. However, some basic maintenance is required to ensure that your hardwood floors look great as time passes.
For daily hardwood care, look no further than a broom and dustpan. By sweeping on a regular basis, you can help to remove dirt, dust, and other debris present on your hardwood flooring. If left on its own, this debris can scratch your floors and cause an overall grungy look. How often you need to sweep is contingent on the amount of foot-traffic the room receives.
It is also recommended that you always remove your shoes before walking on your hardwood floors. Ask your guests to do the same.
Hardwood Spills & Stains
Hardwood flooring is resistant to spills and stains, but that doesn't mean that if a liquid mess occurs on your hardwood flooring, it should just be left there, unaddressed. When and if an accident happens, wipe it up with a cloth in a timely manner to avoid lingering damage to your flooring or the subflooring beneath.
For solid mess, sweep them up with a broom.
