Daily Tile Care
Tile, along with hardwood, is one of the most low-maintenance and durable flooring options on the market. With that said, some basic care is required to guarantee that your tile floors look good in the years to come.
A basic care routine that revolves around sweeping and the occasional wet mopping is the most surefire way to prolong the lifespan of your tile. When you sweep, you help to remove dirt and other debris from your tile and the grouting. This debris can cause a weathered and lackluster appearance and could even scratch your floors. How often you sweep is dependent on the foot-traffic in the room(s) in question.
We also recommend walking mats be placed at the entrances of your home.
Tile Spills & Stains
Tile is very resistant to liquid messes, so when/if you have a spill on your tile floors, there is no need to panic. Wipe the mess up with a cloth immediately after the accident to avoid lingering damage to your tile, the grouting, or the subflooring beneath. For solid messes, you can sweep up the mess.
When in doubt, consult your manufacturer on approved cleaning solutions.
